Q. Tell us something about yourself.
A. I born in Faisalabad, received my school education from Beacon House Faisalabad in 2004. Did my both O & A Levels from University of Cambridge. Completed Graduation degree from LUMS with distinction earlier 2009. I was amongst 120 students who did the degree in Economics as major subject.
Q. With your academic track record from LUMS in Business, how the life career started!
A. Yes! Start of my career was not that much difficult as compared to my batch fellows as they don’t have practical knowledge of process coupled with related knowledge of marketing and the industry as a whole. In fact, during my school time, I started coming to Sitara Chemicals in 1991.Particularly, at that time M-3 (Membrane-3) project erection was going on and I used to participate in each plant erection meeting at that time. Meanwhile, I was also able to spend sometime with M/s Pervaiz Omar in Karachi, where I got familiar with terminologies and practices like customs tariff, Govt. regulations and Import/Export related information.
Moreover, at present, I am involved in project installation of CSP-4 (Caustic Solidification Plant) and looking after its all aspects with needed know-how and expertise.
Q. The day you joined Sitara Chemicals, describe your work experience so far in the organization.
A. Broadly speaking, I was well received by my all colleagues and subordinates, the Advisors and Executives really supported and encouraged me. Thus, this has been easy for me because of my earlier experience in SCIL to resolve any problem with more effectiveness and skillfulness. This has also helped me to know existing corporate culture, span of control, chain of command and scope of orders accordingly.
Moreover, there is lot of competition today, business dynamics are rapidly changing so all this, has made me a challenge accepting person.
Q. It is almost the beginning of your career, what has been the main driving force that has given you strength and vision, while looking at your professional achievements so far.
A. I am presently looking after specially two departments that is, domestic and global sales besides the financial operations. We have been able to drastically reduce the financial cost at various ends and are moving towards consolidating and controlling certain non operative expenses. For that, I very comprehensively study and make analytical exercise before signing any new project with its ROI and IRR etc.
Q. Any most memorable moment during senior college time.
A. Oh Yes! In LUMS there is a day called YOU DAY, where all classmates and faculty members gather, you celebrate the whole day making lot of fun and activities so there is a great jostle and you really enjoy the day. Another such moment to me, will be the forthcoming CONVOVCATION DAY in LUMS but the ceremony will certainly, not be so much excited for me due to absence of my departed mother.
Q. How do you take, what significant changes, Sitara Chemicals have gone through over the years!
A. There have been many changes internally on Process side and I am proud to say that our people have worked hard and accepted indeed, the global changes with respect to BMR - balancing modernization and renovation.
Q. What untapped opportunities do you plan and have in mind to make use in future?
A. There are of course many opportunities and ends, where, I feel to bring changes but it is a process and it is going on. However, there are certain things which can not be narrated at this moment.
Q. Any thing you desire to do more prominently in your life career, moreover, what is LIFE to you at its broader meanings?
A. Life has entirely changed for me since the day, my most loving mother departed, LIFE is totally UNPREDICTABLE. In fact, going little back again, it was my mother who desired me to study at LUMS but today! She is no more. (Mr. Haseeb quoted here Hadith Qudsi, “ Ea Ibne Adam! Eaik teri chahat hai, eik meri Chahat Hai Hoga wahi jo meri chahat hai, Gar tu khud ko supard kar dey, us ke jo meri chahat hai to main ata kar dun ga tuj ko jo wo bhi jo teri chahat hai, wagarna main thaka dun ga tuj ko us main jo teri chahat hai” He further quoted a great saying of HAZRAT ALI (sua) “Main ne pehchana apney RAB ko, apne iradon ke toot jane se”
Q. How the difficulties and job related challenges are being faced!
A. Challenges in fact, are the opportunities and you keep on trying to convert into benefits but there are certain things which are beyond your control as well, thus, I try to interact equally internally and externally.
Lastly any Message you want to give to the people working in Sitara Chemicals! “Every Sitara person should be honest to himself and to the company with improved morals and be respectful towards the peers and juniors and to me, it remains the most significant.”
