Launching ceremony of the Division for commercial operations was held on 19th of February 2003. Apart from a large number of farmers and prospective dealers, senior officials from Ayub Agriculture Research Institute, NIAB Faisalabad, Agri-Extension Services, various sugar mills and NFC Research Institute honored the occasion.

After detailed study of the yield limiting factors in national agriculture and the overall prevailing environment, product development and field experimentation, the launching of the Division is directed towards the aspects of national agriculture where fruitful results are recorded or light seen end of the tunnel. SCIL has in view to address the main agricultural problem of the country, i.e. very low average yield per acre, compared to not only developed countries but also a number of developing economies. Low yield can be attributed to a number of factors and within these crop nutrition i.e. feeding crop with appropriate nutrients, timing thereof and application techniques is the specific area of operation. In addition, improving soil environment – crop quality and produce shelf life is also in focus.
